Looking for the best Denver, Boulder, and Mountain summer camp for your child or teen with autism? Look no further. This is our list of favorite camps, who they are best for, and the services offered.


At Gather+Grow, we LOVE camp and offer several different options for children and teens with autism and related neurodivergence. While we think that our adventure and therapy camps are pretty amazing (check out our offerings here), they aren't a fit for everyone, and we want to help you find the right camp for your child!





Best AAC Camp

Talking with Technology is the our pick in the Front Range for supporting kiddos who are nonverbal and using talkers (speech generating devices). The camp is run by speech-language pathologists, offers a sibling program, and trains personal care assistants (trainers), so that children leave with

Best Family Camp

Adam's Camp is our favorite Family Camp. Campers and their family stay up at Snow Mountain Ranch in Granby for a week of therapy and adventure. Adam's Camp provides a sibling program and parent events while kiddos are at camp. We recommend Adam's Camp for children with moderate to intensive support needs (level 2 or 3 supports). Services may include speech therapy, occupational therapy, physical therapy, social work, music therapy, and more.

Best Camp for Social Skills (Level 1 Supports)

This is where the Gather+Grow Adventure Camps excel! Our Adventure Camps are for Teen and Tween-age clients who are independently safe in the community. In Adventure Camp, we focus on building friendship within the context of outdoor exploration, including activities like rock climbing, paddle boarding, and an overnight campout experience at Snow Mountain Ranch in Granby. All while building social-communication, emotional regulation, motor, and executive functioning skills to increase resiliency and create a sense of belonging - both with each other and in the outdoor space. Services include speech therapy, occupational therapy, and mental health.


Who? Tween and Teenage Children, ages 11-16ish

When? Tween June 19-24th, Teen July 17-22nd

Best Recreational Camp

Boulder County's EXPAND program is led by recreational therapists, who provide opportunities for connection, learning, and adventure through day camps for tweens and teens with all disabilities. They are an amazing, inexpensive and less-intensive option for campers looking to just have fun without goals or structured therapy.

Best Equine-Assisted Camp

Creative Strategies Therapy provides Equine-Assisted Collaborative Learning Groups throughout the summer that look so fun! These groups provide speech language therapy and social communication therapy while riding and working with horses.

Best Elementary Social Skills Camp

Our elementary age Therapy Camps are 1/2 day intensive language, communication, and regulation focused groups for kiddos looking to make friends and have fun! We are offering Language Partner and Conversational Partner groups. Our Language Partners are learning skills like: engagement in group activities, social and emotional vocabulary, awareness of others' needs, collaborative problem solving, and more. Conversational Partners will focus on: growing awareness of another's thoughts, feelings, and perspective; inferencing, sarcasm, and nonliteral language; reading and responding to nonverbal body language; and more.
